Celebrating Little Women
Celebrate Louisa May Alcott’s Little Women, with a day of charm, nostalgia, and timeless wonder. In this intimate experience, a limited number of guests will join Meg, Jo, Beth, and Amy—along with Marmee, Laurie, and other beloved characters—for homespun activities, lively games, music, and delightful refreshments. As the evening unfolds, waltz the night away at a vintage ball inspired by the warmth and spirit of Orchard House.
Choose from Day Admission, Ball Admission, or Both—each offering its own moments of joy and enchantment. Spend the day crafting, playing, and laughing with the March family, then step into the evening for an unforgettable night of music and dance in true Little Women style.
A Day with the Marches
12:00 – 5:30 P.M.
- Entry to the Orchard House & Gardens for the full daytime experience.
- Includes four immersive activity sessions with the March family, including hands-on crafts to take home as keepsakes.
Activities include period crafting, baking, embroidery, painting, and dance instruction, as well as an opportunity to join Meg and Jo for a session of the Pickwick Club.

The Orchard House Ball
6:00 – 10:00 P.M.
- Entry to Orchard House (the Grand Victorian) for an enchanting evening.
- Includes parlor games and amusements, like charades, cards, and storytelling.
- A beautifully designed dance card to keep track of your partners.
- Vintage dancing with lively, led group dances—no wallflowers here!
- An overflowing refreshment table with assorted treats and an unlimited open bar (non-alcoholic).
- Themed photo station for elegant portraits.
- A surprise, magical send-off to close the evening.

Dressing the Part
For an authentic experience, all guests should wear Civil War-era attire. Ladies are invited to don day dresses with petticoats or small hoop skirts (under 110” circumference)—perfect for dancing and mingling—while gentlemen should opt for appropriate Civil War-era suits.
Proper period dress is required for an enjoyable, immersive experience. If needed, our hosts may offer a quick wardrobe adjustment to help maintain the atmosphere. No need to worry—our goal is authenticity, not perfection.
